Finally, fall is upon us! This is the season I look forward to every single year. Cooler temperatures, changing leaves, pumpkin spice lattes… this sounds like a rendition of my previous posts, but what can I say? I just can’t get enough! Time for a UO wishlist.
It appeared that the cold weather had left for good in Houston, but boy were we wrong. Rain, thunderstorms, and chilly breezes have swept this town faster than lightening itself. In an effort to preserve my heels, I’ve been opting for booties lately. Luckily, I’ll be out in the field in California for the next two weeks, so this attire is completely acceptable. Now if only I can find time in my busy schedule to get to Steve Madden…
Spring is in the air and we all know what that means. Wedding season is right around the corner. I feel so honored and blessed to have been asked to be a bridesmaid in one of my coworker’s weddings. We’ve only known each other for 6 months, but we’ve become very fast friends. Some people just click, you know?
With that in mind, I’ve been hounding stores and boutiques at the mall and scouring the internet for dresses for the upcoming events, including the bridal shower, bachelorette party, and rehearsal dinner. Lo and behold, I found everything in one stop. Nasty Gal is my go-to. I’ve come to terms with the fact that it probably always will be.

As the holiday season closes in, I find myself looking ahead to 2013 and the New Year. I’ve always been one to don a new dress on NYE, as I’m sure many other ladies do. While I believe I’ve found the perfect evening attire, my eyes are still open to new possibilities. Nasty Gal currently has a great sale (25% off) for their specially designed NYE section. Here are a few I’ve feasted my eyes on thus far:
It wasn’t too long ago that I discovered Langford Market in Rice Village one sunny, humid day in Houston. When my new job offer arose and I realized I’d be moving 45 minutes north, I had an irrational fear that I wouldn’t be able to shop there as often. As with every other store they have an online site, but I was happy to discover a physical, real-life store in Market Street which is only about 10 minutes away from my current residence.
I want to highlight this boutique because of the incredible quality and use of unique patterns and prints. Langford Market has found a way to mix elegant and feminine designs with trendy and mod settings. With so many boutiques on the rise, these traits can be hard to find. Here are some items I ordered recently:
Not to mention, they always have amazing sales… like the one going on right now. Get 50% off your entire purchase, and free shipping for orders over $50 through Monday noon CST. Happy shopping!
With my sister’s visit quickly approaching this Friday, I figured it’d be a good idea to browse some websites and storefronts for potential holiday gifts. I am so excited for her to get here so we can go to the Houston Premium Outlets to shop! Looking forward to spending some quality time with one of my favorite people, as well as reward myself for a hard-earned fitness victory. Here’s hoping the next two days fly by…
Here are some things that caught my eye right in time for the holidays:

Whew. It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Savvy Saturdays post. I think it’s because I am so over summer weather. I haven’t been excited about summer fashion because I’ve just been waiting and waiting for fall. Well, it’s official (at least in Texas). The weather is cooling down to the low 50s and 60s, the highs hitting mid 70s. Time to stuff those summer clothes in the far back corner of the closet and bring forward the jeans, coats, scarves, hats, leggings, tights, gloves, and boots. Oh Fall, how I adore you.
I’ve been paying a lot of attention to adorning my fingers, wrists, and neck lately. I feel incredibly naked without jewelry and I’ve started noticing how my behaviors are being taken to extremes. If I leave my house without a watch, I will go back and get it, no matter how far away I am. Jewelry to me is like a cell phone for most people – you need it with you at all times and if you forget it, you better believe you turn around to go back and get it. I’ve had my eye on a few pieces lately…
Okay, maybe more than a few.
