Fitness Fridays


I’ve been quite the gym rat lately. It’s almost absurd how excited I am to go to the gym after a ruthlessly, long day at work or a busy, tireless day of errands. I can’t seem to get enough of the treadmill and elliptical lately.

While everyone has different areas of their body they prefer to work out, I usually focus on my legs, thighs, and glutes. I’m a born runner, so I’ve always had strong legs, but I work hard to keep my muscles looking slim versus bulky.

Now for the fun part. I thought I’d unveil a website I visit religiously: FitBottomedGirls. My favorite workout was posted March 29, 2012 and I’ve been following it to a tee for the past 4 months. It’s called The Ultimate Hips, Bum, and Thigh Workout by Amanda Russell, an Olympic-trained athlete, celebrity fitness expert, model, founder of The AR Program, and Google’s “Next Top Fitness Personality in 2012″.

What to do: Perform 50 reps of each exercise and complete as many rounds as you can in 15 minutes, leaving you with a big burn. If you’re sore tomorrow, you’ll know it’s working!

The Workout: As many rounds as you can in 15 minutes -
Lunges, 50 reps (25 each leg)
Bodyweight Squats, 50 reps
Back Extensions, 50 reps

It’s painful, but worth it, and the results are amazing. Watch the video here. You can also watch her YouTube Channel and find other amazing exercises to dive into.
